About Shepherd:
The Shepherd Community Center is a faith-based, non-profit organization established in 1984 with a simple but staggering goal: to break the cycle of poverty on the near east side of Indianapolis. Located centrally within the community it serves, Shepherd offers programs for children, teens, adults and families, helping to meet their physical, emotional, academic, and spiritual needs.
About the Speaker:
Tim Streett has a rich background in ministry and philanthropy, from his time at Jireh Sports helping urban youth develop relationships with mentoring adults, to his experience preaching before 1,000 members at East 91st Street Christian Church. Tim's teaching ministry focused on forgiveness is rooted in personal experience. As a fifteen-year-old, Tim witnessed the murder of his father during a random robbery. As an adult he reached out to establish relationships with each of the men convicted of the murder. One of those relationships grew into a friendship as Tim helped the man pursue his education and establish a successful life upon release from prison.
